Support for adults experiencing change, loss or grief
Seasons for Growth is a four-week, evidence-based group program for adults who have experienced change, loss or grief.
Offered by Lifeline Northern Beaches, Mosman to Kirribilli, the program provides a compassionate, small-group setting where participants can reflect on their experiences, learn practical coping skills and strengthen emotional wellbeing.
Using the metaphor of the seasons, Seasons for Growth helps participants make sense of life changes and grief responses in a safe, respectful and supportive environment.
What the group offers
Seasons for Growth is designed to support adults as they adapt to significant change, loss and grief in a compassionate small-group setting. The program offers:
- Four weekly sessions of two hours each
- A small group of 4–7 participants
- A closed group format, with participants starting and finishing together
- Sessions led by trained Seasons for Growth facilitators, known as “Companions”
- A focus on understanding emotions and learning practical skills for everyday life
- Group-based education and support
- A safe, respectful space to reflect, share and learn at your own pace
Seasons for Growth is not therapy or counselling. Participants are encouraged to attend all four sessions to gain the full benefit of the program.
Who this group is for
Seasons for Growth is suitable for adults who have experienced significant change, loss or grief. This may include:
- Bereavement or the loss of someone important
- Family separation or relationship breakdown
Physical or mental illness - Loss of a pet
- Relocation, forced migration or major life transitions
- Impacts of community or global events, such as pandemics
For people affected by bereavement, it is recommended to wait 6–12 months before taking part.

- Date: Mondays: 20 July to 10 August
- Duration: Four weekly sessions of two hours each

Yes. Participants are encouraged to attend all four sessions to gain the full benefit of the program.
Because Seasons for Growth is a closed group, participants start and finish the program together, helping to build trust, consistency and connection over time.
