Lifeline Connect offers a free, drop-in conversation with trained, caring Lifeline supporters. You do not need to be in crisis — no issue is too big or too small. You’ll be listened to without judgement, supported at your pace, and welcomed as you are.

You might come to Lifeline Connect if something is causing concern, you’re feeling overwhelmed or unsure where to turn, or someone close to you is having a tough time. You may also be experiencing stress, loneliness, grief, financial pressure, caring responsibilities, life changes or feeling stuck.

Lifeline Connect is free and available to everyone. You do not need a Medicare card, private health insurance, an appointment or a referral.

When you arrive, you’ll be welcomed into a calm, supportive space and connected with a trained Lifeline supporter. The conversation is led by you, and you can share as much or as little as you like.

Do I need an appointment or referral?

No. Lifeline Connect is a drop‑in space – no appointment and no referral needed.

Do I need a Medicare card or private health insurance?

No. You do not need a Medicare card or private health insurance to access Lifeline Connect. The service is free and available to everyone.

Who is Lifeline Connect for?

Lifeline Connect is open to all ages. Children under the age of 16 are to be accompanied by a parent or guardian. You can talk about anything that’s affecting your wellbeing – stress, relationships, loneliness, grief, financial pressure, caring responsibilities, life changes, or just feeling stuck. You’re welcome to share as much or as little as you like.

What happens when I arrive?

You’ll be welcomed into a calm, supportive space and connected with a trained supporter. Conversations are led by you and move at your pace.

Who will I be speaking with?

You’ll speak with one of our trained Lifeline supporters who are there to listen without judgement and provide compassionate, respectful support.

Is Lifeline Connect confidential?

Yes. Conversations are confidential, except where there are serious concerns about safety, as required by law. With your permission we collect demographic data for planning purposes.

How long can I stay?

Sessions are flexible. Our Supporters will work with you to make the best use of the time available.

Can you help me find other support services?

Yes. Supporters can provide information and assist with connecting you to other support services in the community.

Is Lifeline Connect a counselling service?

No. Lifeline Connect is not counselling or ongoing therapy. It is a one‑off, supportive conversation focused on listening, understanding, and helping you feel less alone.

Is Lifeline Connect for people in crisis?

Lifeline Connect is available for people experiencing distress, but it does not replace crisis services. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, please call 000. You can also contact Lifeline on 13 11 14 for 24/7 crisis support.

Can I come more than once?

Lifeline Connect is designed as a one‑off support service. However, people are welcome to return if they feel they need support again. If ongoing support would be helpful, our supporters can assist you to explore other options.
