A support group to help manage anxiety, depression and stress
The Managing Emotions Support Group is a six-week, skills-based support group for adults experiencing mild to moderate anxiety, depression and stress.
Facilitated by experienced practitioners, the group provides a supportive and respectful space to learn practical tools for managing strong emotions, reducing distress and improving day-to-day wellbeing.

What the group offers
The Managing Emotions Support Group is a structured, six-week group program designed to help adults build practical skills for emotional wellbeing, coping and connection. The group offers:
- A closed group format, with participants starting and finishing together
- A supportive and respectful environment
- Practical skills to manage strong emotions and distress safely
- Tools to reduce worry, rumination and stress
- Strategies to build emotional regulation and resilience
- Support to improve communication, boundaries and relationships
- Mindfulness, relaxation and self-compassion practices
- An introduction to evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, mindfulness and Solution Focused Therapy
Who this group is for
This group may be suitable for adults experiencing mild to moderate:
- Anxiety
- Depression
- Ongoing stress
- Difficulty managing strong emotions
Common stressors may include relationship difficulties, work or study pressure, financial stress, illness, grief or major life changes.
Eligibility criteria apply. If the group is not the right fit, individual counselling or referral options may be discussed.
NOTE: this is an introductory course and not a replacement for the Dialectical Behaviour Therapy 16 week skills based group

The group may also explore stress responses such as fight, flight, freeze and appease, as well as assertive communication, boundary setting, resilience and coping with life challenges.
