For people who have survived a suicide attempt
ECLIPSE is a free eight-week support group for adults who have survived a suicide attempt.
Facilitated by Lifeline Northern Beaches, Mosman to Kirribilli, Eclipse offers a safe, confidential and non-judgemental space to connect with others who may understand similar experiences.
Across the eight weeks, participants are supported to talk openly and respectfully about suicidal thoughts and experiences, learn practical ways to manage distress, strengthen safety and coping strategies, and explore hope for the future.

What the group offers
ECLIPSE is an eight-week closed support group, which means participants start and finish the program together. This helps build trust, consistency and connection over time. The group offers:
- Eight weekly sessions
- Two-hour sessions each week
- A confidential, supportive and non-judgemental setting
- Group discussion, reflection and practical coping strategies
- Support to manage distress and strengthen safety
- Opportunities to explore reasons for living, coping strategies and ways to stay safe during difficult times
- A calm and respectful environment facilitated by experienced Lifeline staff
ECLIPSE is a support group, not a therapy program. Participants are encouraged to have additional professional support, such as a GP, counsellor, psychologist or therapist, alongside the group.

ECLIPSE is for adults who have survived a suicide attempt and would like to take part in a supportive group setting.

- Connect with others who may understand the experience of surviving a suicide attempt
- Talk about suicidal thoughts and experiences in a respectful, supportive environment
- Learn strategies to manage distress and support safety
- Explore coping strategies, reasons for living and ways to stay safe during difficult times
Participants will be invited to attend a pre-group conversation to help determine whether ECLIPSE feels safe and suitable for their needs.

Is ECLIPSE right for me?
ECLIPSE may be right for you if you have survived a suicide attempt and would like to connect with others in a safe, confidential and supportive group setting.
Before joining, you will be invited to attend a pre-group, face-to-face conversation with a Lifeline staff member. This conversation is a chance to talk through your needs, ask questions about the group, and discuss whether ECLIPSE feels safe and suitable for you.
Do I need a referral to join?
No referral is required to express interest in ECLIPSE.
Participants are encouraged to have additional professional support alongside the group, such as a GP, counsellor, psychologist or therapist.
Who facilitates ECLIPSE?
ECLIPSE is facilitated by Lifeline staff with experience in suicide crisis support, suicide prevention education, suicide bereavement and support group facilitation.
Facilitators provide a calm, respectful and supportive environment, and can also offer guidance on additional support services.
How do I register for ECLIPSE?

The process includes:

- Attend a pre-group, face-to-face conversation with a Lifeline staff member.
- If ECLIPSE is assessed as a safe and suitable fit for your needs, you will be invited to participate.
- If ECLIPSE is not right for you right now, we can help you identify other support options.
