    VOLUNTEER

Volunteering with Lifeline shops is fun and rewarding.

We couldn’t operate, or achieve impact, without our volunteer efforts.

Make a positive impact in your community, gain new skills and experience, develop lasting friendships and be part of a fun team!

Before becoming part of our volunteer team, all new volunteers will need to attend an ‘Information and Induction’ session. This is your opportunity to learn more about what we do in your community and the various jobs required when you work with us.

Apply in store with one of our friendly team or via the contact form at the bottom of this page.

What type of work does a store volunteer do?

Our volunteers help with a wide variety of tasks to keep the store running smoothly. These may include:

    • merchandising – organising, pricing and tagged goods, and creating attractive store displays
    • customer service – assisting shoppers and working behind the register
    • sorting donated goods
    • store maintenance

Are there minimum/maximum hours required for volunteering?

From as little as 3 hours per fortnight to one day per week, we can be flexible and work with you.

    Is there a dress code?

Yes. Volunteers adhere to a code of neat dress when working on our retail floor. We must insist on closed toe shoes to be compliant with Workplace Health and Safety requirements.

    Do you provide training?

Yes, For volunteers we provide an in-store induction and on site “on the job” training for the tasks you are undertaking.

Could volunteering lead to employment within stores?

Yes, from time to time positions become available in store.

Can I volunteer at more than one store?

We prefer our volunteers to settle in to one location and be connected with their team and customers.

Quality fashion, homewares, books and treasures are always appreciated.

Re-selling good condition items is a way we can raise funding necessary to provide our services.

Donations of saleable goods are cheerfully accepted in store (10am-4pm everyday)

    OR

Drive and Drop donations to our rear laneway entrance (no parking required) on Boonara Lane.
